Miss Kathy

Kathy DixonKathy Dixon

Kathy began her gymnastics and dance training in her native Steamboat Springs, CO  at the age of 6. She attended Perry Mansfield’s Performing Arts Camp, Steamboat Dance Theatre and was a competitive gymnast.  Kathy received her BA and MA in Elementary Education and a minor in dance.  For 12 years she worked as a 1st grade teacher by day and dance/gym teacher by night.  She directed various dance programs, coached competitive gymnastics, and choreographed/performed in several children/adult musicals.  For ten summers during those “no children of their own” years her husband patiently let her pursue her passion to continue studying dance with the Colorado Dance Festival, Glenwood Springs Dance Festival, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, National Tap Ensemble, and complete Kent State University’s Dance Master’s of America’s Teacher’s Training School program.  Kathy, her husband Gene, and daughters Talia and Mya moved to Hemet from Colorado.  She is very excited to be teaching for The Dancer’s Studio.
